Our Story: How Wells Christmas Tree Farm Began

Our Story: How Wells Christmas Tree Farm Began
Welcome to Wells Christmas Tree Farm! As the leaves fall and the air gets crisp, we’re gearing up for another magical season. But before you pick out your perfect tree, let us share the story of how our dream turned into the farm you love today.

From a Dream to a Farm
Our journey began in 2013, when we bought our land and built our dream home by 2014. That first Christmas on the farm was special. While searching for a unique tree, we visited a local farm, and something magical happened. Amongst the scent of pine, the festive atmosphere stirred an idea—a wild dream to start our own Christmas tree farm. As luck would have it, we both had the same thought at the same moment.

Fast forward to 2015, and we were standing shoulder to shoulder with other farmers at a Christmas tree conference, learning everything we could. We planted our first trees soon after and have been growing ever since.

A Labor of Love
Today, we’ve grown 1,500 trees on 2 acres, mostly Virginia Pines and Scotch Pines, with room to expand across our 12 acres. Our farm is a place where families come not just to pick out trees, but to make memories. From movie nights to our Christmas market, we’ve built a community hub that brings people together in the holiday spirit.

Why We Do What We Do
People often ask us, “Why Christmas trees? Why a farm?” The answer is simple—Christmas trees are a symbol of tradition, of family, of gathering together to celebrate. And we love that. Every time a family walks through our fields, cuts down their own tree, and ties it to the top of their car, they’re creating a memory. And that’s what drives us.

For us, it’s not just about growing trees. It’s about growing relationships—relationships with our community, with the land, and with the people who visit us year after year. That’s why we’re always trying to add new events and experiences to the farm, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for the perfect tree, a unique gift, or just a fun day out with the family.

What Makes Wells Farm Special
There’s a lot that goes into running a Christmas tree farm, but what makes Wells Christmas Tree Farm special isn’t just the trees we grow or the events we host. It’s the people. It’s the fact that we’ve been able to build this farm with the help of our friends, family, and our amazing community.

Every year, volunteers come out to help us prepare the farm for the season—people who believe in our vision and love the farm as much as we do. Whether it’s helping to prune the trees, organize the Christmas market, or set up for movie night, we’re incredibly grateful to have such a supportive community behind us. It’s that shared love of Christmas and community that makes this place so special.

Looking to the Future
As we look forward to another busy season, we’re reminded of how far we’ve come and how much further we still want to go. We have big dreams for Wells Christmas Tree Farm—expanding our tree-growing operation, adding even more community events, and continuing to be a place where holiday memories are made.

So, whether this is your first time visiting the farm or you’re one of our regulars, we can’t wait to see you this season. Every time you come to Wells Christmas Tree Farm, you’re helping us grow this dream—and for that, we can’t thank you enough.

See you soon!

My grownup girls and I have been to your farm when you had People selling all types of things. We love a craft fair so we hope to come out again soon.

We started coming to your farm two years ago. It was the first time I’ve had a real Christmas tree in over 20 years. We loved the entire experience so much that we came back last year too and are looking forward to returning this year as well. We love everything about it. The tree selection, the firepits, the food trucks, games and most importantly the friendly staff/volunteers. You all are wonderful and it’s great to see so many families with big smiles making memories!
